salt on my lips
Friday, March 1, 2013
i took an awesome run yesterday on the beach. i mean when am i ever going to be able to be this close to the beach again?! on my run down to the water i met up with some horse friends that almost charged me because i got too close but they sure were beautiful. the weather was perfect yesterday. as soon as i sat on the sand i could feel the salt on my lips and wind in my hair. it was nice to be able to watch the crashing waves and have no care in the world. i will miss this calming and relaxing atmosphere here in todos but looking forward to getting back home.
m is for mango
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
i was just driving through town and saw this guy selling mangos from a cart. i love mangos! i remember my mom and dad telling me about how they would always get mango on a stick when they went on vacation to mexico so i had to get me one. there were a group of girls before me who got some but they ordered theirs with some sort of spices and sauce on it. i wanted to eat mine all natural. it was so delicious, refreshing and sweet and easy to eat on my drive home. i will definitely miss being able to get fresh fruit on the corner when i leave here next week.

i did try to surf when my parents were here but i haven't had enough courage to try it again. i really didn't think that it would be that hard since i am an athlete but i was wrong. the waves kept crashing against me that i was fighting them off instead of trying to surf. nate has been giving me a hard time saying that if he was here he would be out there every single day surfing it up. i think that i need professional help surfing and not try to teach myself. we'll see if i get out to the ocean again if not nate promised to teach me whenever we have a beach vacay of our own. we'll see...
sitting in a cafe

caffe todos santos is a lovely little hangout in todos santos that has yummy pastries, tasty drinks and art everywhere. the cafe is a perfect place to set up camp if you are trying to get some work done on your computer or if you want to meet up with some friends. my favorite thing on their menu is their hot chocolate and their pizza. i'm thinking about their pizza right now and feel the urge to go get one *sigh*. i haven't come across any cafes like this in ohio so i know i surely will miss this one.
earth ship
Friday, February 15, 2013
so i saw an earth ship the other day. had no clue what even an earth ship was until my neighbor took me over to see it and explained it to me. basically it is a solar powered house made of natural and recycled materials. this earth ship was made of earth-filled tires and also glass bottles joined together by concrete. the shape of the house looked like a horseshoe. it was pretty amazing to see. unfortunately i didn't get to go inside but i tried to peak through the windows and saw glass bottles everywhere and plants as well. the earth ship was actually for rent. i don't really know who would want to stay in this sort of house but then again it is pretty cool. this house would probably be for someone who is very cautious about their ecological footprint on the earth. i don't think i would stay in it, would you?
time to try something new
Sunday, January 27, 2013
i have about a month left in mexico until my internship is over. i have my favorite places where i go to get some great mexican food that i go to multiple time during the week. it was time for a change since i will be leaving soon and i wanted to venture out and try something new. i heard that there was a chocolate shop just around the corner from my office and i'm a sucker for chocolate so i had to check it out. i got a salted truffle and an almond fudge truffle. both DELICIOUS! it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth and it was good for me to get out and try something new.
home away from home
Friday, January 25, 2013
as you know i've been living in mexico for the past few months. i haven't really taken any pictures around the property where i am staying so i felt like it was time to share. i'm living in a beautiful house called casita del sol and i get a great view of the ocean. the landscape around the property is so pretty and colorful. at night i can hear the ocean waves crash against the shore and it helps me fall asleep. it really has been wonderful staying here and i still have about a month left in this beautiful area.
